(now i'll shift the pronoun...) i really enjoyed doing this- it gave me a lot of freedom to do strange, edgy, perhaps-too-personal "music."

Hurray for You! (2010)
I used the opportunity of this year's RPM Challenge to generate very edgy, perhaps-too-personal material I would not normally have created. I actually decided to delete two tracks because they are just too personal for me right now; maybe I'll add them later. I used my voice, my Roland Juno 106 keyboard and my violin. I recorded on my MacBook with ProTools and I used Audacity to slow things down and speed things up. The text is from my February free-writing journal entries. Most of it is very negative and dark- but also sarcastic. I use the free-writing as therapy to get out all my bad crap (like going to the bathroom) so much of this album is like making art out my feces. Does that make you want to listen to it? It's dark humor. And I tried to make it interesting on an artistic level as well. The only material not generated in Feb. 2010 is a recording from 1975 of me reciting "Bah Bah Blacksheep."
